Common Questions about the
Navigator Training Program
What is the
NavigatorTraining Program?
The Navigator Training Program is a six-month program
designed to assist recent college graduates in becoming
full-time Bridgestone Americas salaried teammates. New
teammates will travel to various plants or offices throughout
North America to gain knowledge of the company and its
operations. The training also provides the new teammate
the opportunity to explore various work experiences
within their discipline. After the six-month training
program is complete it is expected that candidates will
move into positions throughout the company.
Candidates must be open
to relocation anywhere in the United States to participate
in this program.
When does this
program start?
There are two rotations per year; one beginning late
January and the other in July.
How will the program
be divided?
The first six weeks of the program are spent learning
about the company including its subsidiaries. After
that candidates move into the first of two nine-week
assignments. This first assignment is followed by a
mid-program review consisting of a week in Nashville
during which participants are given updates on the program
and assignments. Following the mid review, Navigators
will move into a second nine-week assignment. The last
week of the program will be filled with final reviews
and preparation for relocating to new work assignments.
Am I paid?
NTP participants receive all the benefits of any other
full time teammates. Please check with your career services
office to evaluate expected ranges in various disciplines.
Where do I live
during the program? Who pays?
During the 26 week training program NTP participants
will live in housing provided by the company. This normally
includes hotels, extended stay properties and corporate
apartments. Most of these arrangements are paid for by the company.
What about travel
from place to place?
The company pays for travel expenses. This includes
any flights and mileage reimbursements for any drives
to your nine week assignment.
How many participants
are enrolled in this program?
The Navigator Training Program will generally host 10-12 participants during each rotation.
What majors will
be in the program?
Majors will vary by business needs of the company. Please
visit How Can I Become A Navigator
to learn of desired majors for future programs.
Will all Navigators
travel together?
For the first 6 weeks of the program all Navigators
will travel together. After week 6, participants will
move into the first 9 week assignment. These assignments
will vary by discipline and location requests. Not all
Navigators will be assigned to any one location at any
one time.
What will my final
assignment be?
Final assignments and locations are subject to the needs
of the company. Positions will vary depending upon position
availability, company need and in cases of multiple
position openings, personal preference.
